Alright – I owe you all some new photos after the nasty incision post. I’m going to redeem myself here, promise. With the good, comes the bad… but I ensure you it will end beautifully.
It’s been real. The 4-6 week recovery time I was given for my preventative bilateral mastectomy went out the window pretty quickly when the infections started. I’m now almost 15 weeks out from my mastectomy and I’m feeling pretty good. I’m not “back to normal” or “feeling like myself again,” but I’m starting to feel a bit more comfortable and independent.
I’ve scheduled my phase 2 surgery for March 9th and I’m so relieved to have a date set. In the recovery that seemed never ending setting a date has settled some of my anxiety. I’m ready to get the ball rolling and see the end result. I’m ready to start learning this new me.
My wonderful husband helped me photograph both my before photos and now this in-between phases body and every time I look at a new photo, I’m in shock. I’m extremely happy with where my body is in this journey. I’m super happy I found an amazing medical provider at The Center for Restorative Breast Surgery with a rockstar of a plastic surgeon – Shoutout to you Dr. Blum!
Alright, time for the goods!
