It feels like we started this off in a sprint.
After finding out the news, we packed up our lives in a very short, very quick, three weeks and moved to Philadelphia. Then when we got here it felt like we had finished the first leg of the race, if only we could have passed the baton on and taken a breather. Nope, then the hurdles started, and we jumped from neighborhood to neighborhood, apartment to apartment. Finishing the 2nd leg of the race when we found our apartment in Old City. Then we did slow down, then it became more of a marathon than a sprint. (I have to say, I’ve never been much of a runner, so perhaps it turned into a western pleasure class, or a showmanship class that felt never ending, but let’s be real, all showmanship classes feel like that).
Now we are less than two days away, and it feels like we can see the finish line. Except, instead of a celebratory ceremony…we will start the unpacking and decorating. Of course for anyone that knows me, this is the celebratory ceremony. The chance to create our new home, decorate, and organize is a total win-win. Decorating is exactly what I’ve been waiting for, my days filled with pining decor tips, bookmarking pieces from IKEA, Joss & Main, and The Container Store are coming to an end. Once we get in and start unpacking, we will be able to make some of those dreams come true!
